Important News

As of 06/22/11, TotalIRC has merged with AlphaChat! We'd like to welcome all TotalIRC users to the network.

As of 10/03/11, NightmareIRC/RefugeIRC has merged with AlphaChat! As always, we'd like to welcome all of the new users to the network.

As of 11/09/11, the Game-Proz gaming community's IRC network has merged with AlphaChat! You can find them in #Game-Proz and #Minecraft.

About Us

AlphaChat, formerly known as ZeroNET, was originally created as a side project of Sparky and Joah's, but now functions as an alternative network to all of the other medium sized networks within our extended community. We pride ourselves in being drama free and wish to provide all of our chatters with a friendly chat environment, different from what other networks provide to their chatters. We encourage all of our chatters to be respectful to one another, which is a core value of AlphaChat. On AlphaChat, we believe the purpose of having network staff is to help maintain and run the network, not to provide people with the ability to power trip and have totalitarian rule over a network. Therefore, our staff will not interfere with private channels, at all, without probable cause (this will only happen if something illegal or malicious is suspected of going on in the channel).

We are always looking for new chatters to join or bring their channels to our network, so check out #Lobby or do a /list today!

Why Us?

We have professional, knowledgeable, and friendly staff.

We offer IRC games, such as trivia in #Trivia, the acronym game in #Acro, UNO in #UNO, Werewolf in #Werewolf, and the multinetwork idle RPG in #MultiRPG.

We have multiple gaming communities on the network, such as EvoGaming in #Evocraft and Game-Proz in #Game-Proz and #Minecraft.

We have network statistics (Denora/phpDenora) available here and a quote database available here.

We have a network radio station, owned and managed by Nolan, in #WNOLFM.

We have 5 leaves, located in the United States, Canada, and Europe, as well as specific round robins for each continent. This gives us geographical redundancy and allows us to provide you, the chatter, with as little lag as possible.

We have IPv6 support on multiple servers in multiple countries.

If you are interested in bringing a channel to AlphaChat or starting a new channel and would like to have a Flash web chat for it, we run our Flash policy daemon on port 8002. The round robin for Flash clients is WebIRC.AlphaChat.net.

How Do I Connect?

Aside from our regular round robin of irc.AlphaChat.net or our IPv6 round robin of irc.IPv6.AlphaChat.net, you can use one of our regional round robins. NA.AlphaChat.net, or NA.IPv6.AlphaChat.net for IPv6, will take you to a working North American server. EU.AlphaChat.net, or EU.IPv6.AlphaChat.net for IPv6, will take you to a working European server.
