FlameIRC Network
About us
FlameIRC has been reborn from the grave that it was once sent to by one of it's previous admins in charge. The current owner now who was a former network administrator has given the network a chance to become as popular as it once was. The network officially reopened it's doors to the public 2 January 2012
The network is for ever looking for ways to extend our network and seeking new improvements at least on a weekly basis. All our server's that are linked can either use our domain or as preferred their own domain.
As a safety precaution also on the network, we require all users to make use of the secure alias commands like /ns /nickserv & /cs /chanserv and so on to ensure they are always communicating with our services and not a password stealer. The network is not configured with channel modes +qa (channel owner / admin) but we do allow users to use +h (halfop's).
Our rules are simple, we allow most genre's on our network. We will never however allow channels that infringe on minor's, money laundering or terrorism. Filesharing channels and all other sorts we do allow.
IRCd & Services
Powering FlameIRC is InspIRCd and Atheme which gives us ChanServ, NickServ, HelpServ, OperServ and many more. All users are free to register with our services and can manage their nickname(s) and channels with our services or even hide your hostname with a vhost by using our HostServ service. The network allows users to make use of SaslServ.
It doesn't stop at our services though, our ircd even though configured to offer limited features compared to most other networks running the same, it's modules and configuration is designed to keep the users presence on the network safe and we haven't even cut corners doing it... every link on the network makes use of SSL links between each server so your chat between one user and the other remains encrypted. We also offer the users the chance to connect via SSL too using port 6697. Every server also uses the same ports so you wont have to worry about one server being different from the rest.

Channels of interest
Like all good networks they have their channels listed, for ease of getting help when it's needed, or maybe you fancy some idle time, a game on irc or just to chill out. These are the channels that are supported by our network and it's team.
- help - General help and support from the staff of the network
- lobby - Network offical general chat room... the lounge
- multiirpg - Idle and play a game of Multirpg against other network's and their users.

Our future goal
Our goal is simple. Yes like any network we would like to become big, but being a bigger network means more maintenance, more servers and unless we grow in staff number it may not necessarily be the best move, so we want to focus on becoming reputable, a place people can say is safe, always available and the staff are trustworthy.
We are open to links that bring more users than staff, we are also open to Janus link's that allow other networks to maintain their own portion of the network, however we don't want more staff / severs than normal users.
