shadow is an IRC bot which aims to be a replacement to something such as an [[eggdrop]]. It's event driven, modular, and stable. It's written in {{Programming languages/Perl}}, and runs on many operating systems, though it preforms best on unix/linux systems.  It also has a module repository<ref>http://ephasic.org/shadow/repo</ref> which allows people to contribute modules to the project.  It's support channel can be found in [irc://irc.alphachat.net/shadow #shadow] on [[AlphaChat]].
