About us

noNetIRC is an IRC network just starting out, with a no services approach. It was felt that this would bring mixed feelings, but with the right directions, and instructions and guides to keep your channel safe, we believe that users will find chatting on IRC without things they might be used to will find it to be a learning, and even fun experience. You can chat about anything you want, start channels, and invite as many friends as you would wish. We're currently looking for a base amount of users to help kick us off the ground, and maybe even operator positions. Just mention you're interest in helping out with the network, but please be active for a little while before so.

We have a pseudo-service named NoServ, which gives our trusted operators the tools and logs needed to keep you, and your chatting experience, a safe one. We also have open proxy detection. (BOPM) But for the most part, noNetIRC is a complete vanilla chat network, with only the basics. We have no servers linked at the moment, and it will probably stay that way for a little while.

noNetIRC does not believe in operator interference when it comes to users, and their channels, although if a channel takeover were to happen, you'll always have support from the staff. All things concerning global-network punishments, or changing of settings, are done through the pseudo-service, NoServ, made by Noah, the creator of the network. NoServ is a strong bot that can respond to emergencies within the network quickly.

Supprt

Support is of course, available 24/7, as so is connectivity to the network itself. You can look for support from people in the channel #help, who have the channel mode +o. All operators are very friendly, supportive, and are willing to help. You may PM them at any time, without fear of them being upset for not asking them, and no ones call for help will be ignored, just please allow them time to respond as they may be away from their computer at that moment, which you can check by using the WHOIS command and checking their idle time. General questions can be answered within the channel, but we ask you to please take all personal matters into PMs or you will be muted within the channel.

How to connect

People can connect to noNet by getting on their IRC client, and can connect by going to one of the following.

irc://irc.nonetirc.co.cc:6667 or irc://irc.nonetirc.co.cc:+6697

We also support SSL, and just instead of using port 6667, use port +6697 instead. SSL ensures that your messages are encrypted, so we encourage all users that chat to chat using SSL.
